Flooring maintenance
Whether you have a wood deck or a stone patio, keeping the flooring of your outdoor space maintained and cleaned is important. If you have a wood deck, make sure you seal it every couple of years. A stone patio looks great after a cleaning, but make sure you don’t overdo it. Wash as needed versus on a regular schedule and use a mild household detergent to get rid of grime and stains. If you do use a pressure washer, make sure to be careful, as to not damage the wood or stone of your patio flooring.
Furniture
New Year, new furniture arrangement! There’s no simpler way to change up the look of your patio than by rearranging the furniture. It also helps to avoid mildew from growing in areas that don’t see a lot of sunlight because they are covered by furniture or rugs. Another great patio maintenance tip is to regularly clean your patio furniture, to keep everything looking as new as the day you bought it. Use a damp or dry cloth to wipe down cushions, couches, tables, and chairs, and then if necessary, give the surface a deeper clean with products that are appropriate for the material. Be sure to check the tags for cleaning instructions, the best tip is to use gentle cleaners to avoid damaging the material.
