As we all focus on keeping ourselves, our family, and strangers safe and healthy by practicing social distancing, you might be looking for some ways to stay busy in your home. Spring cleaning your patio is one option if you are in search of activities to keep you active at home during the COVID-19 “safer at home” order. Take a break from the news and get some fresh air in your private outdoor space.
Here are a few easy tips to get your outdoor space cleaned and ready for the spring, and to help you stay active and busy while at home.
It’s easy to just clean around furniture, like when you vacuum in your living room. To do a good job when you spring clean your patio, and to give it a complete refresh, take the time to actually move the furniture, and clean underneath. This is also a good way to check to see if there are any cracks or spots that need a little maintenance. If you have potted plants, move those out, because you’ll be sure to find a little grime from the dirt or even some insect friends! Then sweep and give your patio a scrub.
Clean your furniture and outdoor accessories
Usually, a wipe down with a clean rag will do the trick, but if your furniture needs more love, make sure to check the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions because you don’t want to inadvertently use any abrasive cleaning products that might actually do more damage than good (and can potentially void the warranty!). Don’t forget your barbecue, clean the grill and make sure it’s ready to go the next time you have a sunny day and we can entertain again.
Once you’ve finished the cleaning, let everything dry completely before putting your patio back together. You might decide after cleaning your furniture, to do a little rearranging. This would be an easy way to give your patio a fresh new look.
