The 4th of July is just around the corner and that means fireworks, parades, and backyard gatherings with friends and family. Here are some of our favorite DIY Backyard 4th of July party ideas, simple and fun, the decor, food, and games at your party are sure to be a hit!
Decor
Keep it simple. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to make your backyard look festive this year. We love using items from around our home and our very own backyard to decorate. Buying fresh-cut flowers can get expensive, consider using wildflowers for your centerpieces, in different hues, to add a little pop to your red, white, and blue table. Even better if you have a garden full of flowers and can use something from your own backyard to make a pretty arrangement for the table. Set those flower arrangements on top of a festive tablecloth, bring out the red, white, and blue table settings, and you’ve got your outdoor dining area all ready for the party.
Food
At any backyard party, food is the star of the show. 4th of July parties are that time of year where you pull out all the stops. For food, we like anything on the grill. Grilled burgers and hotdogs are a traditional 4th of July fan favorite, but this year, we’re upping the stakes and trying something new, grilled watermelon. Keeping that watermelon flavor but losing a little of the sweetness, we know that this recipe will be a hit with your party guests this year.
Games and Activities
It’s the time of year to pull out all your favorite yard games, cornhole, horseshoes, bocce ball, just to name a few. And of course, make sure you have some fun stuff for the kids, like sparklers, bubbles, and snaps.
These are just a few of many backyard 4th of July party ideas, there is really no way to go wrong, the goal is to enjoy time with friends and family in your backyard and celebrate America together. All of us at Patioworld hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!
