It seems to have become an unwritten rule, that we have to wait until at least after Thanksgiving to start getting out our boxes of holiday decor, this includes decorating your patio for the holiday season.
2020 has been a different year for us and for those of you that needed to feel festive sooner rather than later, we bet your place looks amazing and we hope that all those twinkling lights bring you joy! If you waited until the day after Thanksgiving, it’s time to get in the holiday mood!
Here are a few tips for getting your outdoor space looking as jolly as your indoor space!
Lights
You don’t have to get all Clark Griswold on your house to make it look festive. Or maybe you want to go big and light up the house for the entire neighborhood to enjoy! If you prefer the minimalist approach, add lights to your patio railings, pergola, or strategically place lights in your bushes and trees around the yard. It seems impossible to not be in a festive spirit when you are surrounded by the warm glow of holiday lights.
Greenery
Another piece of holiday decor we love are wreaths and greenery. It’s such a natural, simple, and beautiful way to put you in the holiday mood. Whether it be a wreath on the front door or garlands wrapped around the patio railings, the smell of spruce is bound to put you in the mood for the holidays.
Decor
An easy way to change up the look of your patio furniture has always been to update pillows. This also holds true for the holiday season. Keep an eye out for cute holiday pillows, in greens and reds, or blues and silvers. Stick with one color scheme and bring it to life with the pillows you have on your outdoor furniture. Whether your pillows have a cute holiday phrase or a pattern of holly and berries, this is an easy way to bring the holidays to life.
These are three simple tips for decorating your patio for the holiday season. Crank up the holiday tunes and get the entire family involved! This is the perfect family activity for the weekend after Thanksgiving.
