We love to share ideas for how you can use your outdoor space, no matter what the size. Maybe you have a small patio at a condo or an apartment that you haven’t been taking full advantage of because you just aren’t sure know how to best use your space. Easy and inexpensive touches like lighting, furniture, and even curtains can change the look, add privacy, and make your small patio your go-to spot outdoor space.
Here are some easy small patio tips to transform your space into a quaint area for relaxing.
Make it comfy
The right type of seating makes a world of difference. Consider a hammock chair, a daybed, or even just a lounge chair with a place to put up your feet. Floor pillows can also add extra seating and color to your patio without taking up a lot of room. The great thing about floor pillows is they are easily added or removed from the patio, you can store them when not in use, and then when friends pop in for a visit, you can bring them out for extra seating outdoors. It’s also a great idea to find furniture for this space that is multi-functional, like an ottoman that could be used as a side table and/or extra seating.
Privacy
If your small patio space is in a condo or an apartment, where maybe you don’t feel that you have the most privacy, consider using curtains to create a temporary wall. A privacy screen created from repurposed shutters is a unique way to create an enclosure or use plants and create a green wall. Creating a vertical wall for plants not only will save you space but will help you have more privacy.
Lighting.
String lights can add that warm glow to your patio that makes it a cozy and inviting space, where you’ll want to spend your evenings relaxing or enjoying a glass of wine with friends. A unique pendant light is also a great option, not only for shedding light on your patio but as a conversation piece.
These few easy small patio tips are a great way to take full advantage of unused space in your home and create an oasis for you to relax, unwind, and entertain.
