As summer draws to an end and the cool fall nights approach, what better way to use your backyard fire pit than to make s’mores with family and friends? We all know the traditional s’more recipe. Chocolate bar + melted marshmallow, sandwiched between two graham crackers. If you’re feeling adventurous, here are some fun, easy, and DELICIOUS s’more recipes that you have to try!
Change up the chocolate!
There are SO many different options to compliment the marshmallow. Basically, any kind of candy bar will do the trick. Try a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup or a Snickers. Cut the Snickers bar in half lengthwise to make it fit easily on your graham cracker, add the marshmallow and TA-DA! A delicious s’more, with peanuts, chocolate, caramel, and nougat! Another delicious idea is to add a sweet butter – peanut butter, cookie butter, almond butter, or even Nutella!
Change up the graham!
Another easy way to make those s’mores more exciting is to switch out the graham cracker for some other delicious option. Make a Rice Krispie treat s’more, use Oreos, chocolate chip cookies, or waffle cookies! The sky’s the limit!
Make it fancy!
A traditional s’more always hits the spot, but there are so many ways to jazz it up and try something new. One of our favorites is a salted caramel s’more. Drizzle the roasted marshmallow with caramel, a dash of sea salt, and enjoy! Everyone loves Samoa Girl Scout cookies, what about a Samoa S’more? Keep the caramel handy and sprinkle on some toasted coconut. And finally, who doesn’t love bacon?! How about an Elvis S’more! Peanut butter, banana, and candied bacon, YUM!
