Summer Cocktails

The summer season, with its fabulous weather and hours of sunshine, is prime for spending time with family and friends outdoors. And with all gatherings, it’s a time to eat, drink, and be merry. Summer cocktails are a fun and refreshing addition to adult gatherings. For nonalcoholic drink options, be sure to read our Summer Mocktail Recipes blog.

Wine Slushies

Wine slushies are the perfect summer cocktail for wine lovers. They’re the adult version of our favorite slushies as kids. The easiest way to make wine slushies is to pour your favorite wine into ice cube trays and freeze them for at least four hours. Then take the frozen wine cubes out of the trays and pop them in your blender. Pulse the blender a few times until you get the consistency you want. Pour in glasses and enjoy!

For a somewhat more complicated, but also delicious, wine slushy, try these Red Wine Slushies with frozen fruit, simple syrup, and more.

Mojitos

Mojitos are not too sweet and have a refreshing hint of mint, making them fantastic for summer days or evenings. There are a lot of different recipes for mojitos that combine white rum, mint, sugar, lime juice, and Club Soda in different ways. For a different twist on the classic mojito that adds a tart taste to the mix, try this Blackberry Mojito recipe.

Unconventional Summer Cocktails

If you like trying new recipes and want to add some spice to your summer, try a Skinny Pineapple and Jalapeño-Infused Vodka Cocktail. Remove the seeds from one jalapeño and dice it. Combine the diced jalapeños with one cup of vodka in a jar with a lid, and let it sit overnight, then strain. When the vodka is ready, mix one shot of the jalapeño infused vodka with 2 tablespoons pineapple juice and 6 ounces sparkling water, preferably lime- or pineapple-flavored. Add ice and pineapple pieces and enjoy!

Another lesser known summer cocktail is the Salty Dog. It uses a salted rim like a margarita, but instead of tequila and Triple Sec, it combines grapefruit juice, gin, and more for an exhilarating summer treat.

Regardless of your drink of choice, make the most of your summer. Relax, enjoy the company of your friends and family, and relish the beautiful weather!
