Shade
Having a shady spot to enjoy your patio is a must – not just to keep cool – but to protect yourself from the sun. There are many ways you can create shade on your patio, one of which is by using an outdoor umbrella. We like this option because it’s movable, as the sun changes position in the sky, you can also change your umbrella’s position, to maximize your time in the shade and stay cool in the summer heat. Another more permanent option for shade would be to install a pergola. Not only are pergolas great for shade, but they also add style to your patio space. You can string lights on your pergola for a lovely ambiance at night, potted plants and flowers, or even curtains to keep out the bugs. And somewhere in the middle, we have the tent or pavilion option, which will create a larger space for shade than an umbrella, but still be movable, unlike the pergola.
Breeze
Consider installing fans in your patio space. Fans can help the air circulate and keep bugs away. Although outdoor fans don’t actually cool the air, they will definitely give you nice airflow and help keep your patio space feeling cool. If you have a covered patio, an outdoor ceiling fan is a great option, not only for air circulation but for style.
Cold Beverages
There is something to be said about having that outdoor patio bar always stocked with cold drinks. A cool drink in your hand is truly one of the simplest ways to stay cool during the summer.
